Grant Amount: $50000, on 10/5/12
The Rockwood Leadership Institute provides training in leadership and collaboration to individuals, organizations, and networks. The Rockwood model of change begins with the premise that leadership can be taught–it is not something someone is born with nor limited to an elite few. Rockwood defines “transformative leadership” as the ability to inspire and align others to successfully achieve common goals. In support of this, Rockwood delivers curriculum that balances contemplative disciplines and emotional intelligence practices with traditional “business school” leadership skills, effective communication tools, and conflict resolution techniques. A grant to Rockwood in 2012 will provide research and development capital, allowing the organization to explore a nature-based approach to organizational planning and to consider the next steps for connecting and activating multiple networks among Rockwood’s 4,000 alums.
