Climate Justice Rising

June 17, 2015

Grantee News From Latino Community Fund of Washington State:

On May 20th, the Wing Luke Museum was abuzz. The topic? Climate justice and elevating the voices of those disproportionately harmed by climate change – communities of color and people with lower incomes. Looking around the room we saw the faces of more than 20 current and former SVP Partners, and we wanted to find out more about their passion for this movement.

The May 20th event was an opportunity to engage citizens and philanthropists in the effort. Governor Jay Inslee and many nonprofit leaders were present, and Communities of Color for Climate Justice screened a video that captures the essence of their movement. Deric Gruen shared the video with us here, pointing out that it is a preview edition for members who were key to making the event possible, and is still a work in progress.- See more at: SVP Seattle Climate Justice Rising
