I am a Ph.d student whose research emphasis the application of geospatial technology in filling the knowledge gaps on sustainable wetland ecosystem monitoring. I have 12 years of experience in Geographic Information sciences (GIS) and Remote sensing (RS) and have participated in workshops, as a short-term consultant, researcher, or instructor on numerous RS, GIS, and GPS projects in Africa and United States. My research experience stems from work in hydrology (Nigeria) where GIS were used in simulating and designing hydrology models and in designing an Operational Management Plan for the US Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District—Northern Louisiana (USA). My collaborative effort and contribution to improving the geospatial user- base was also exemplified in Florida Division of Forestry where forest management models, materials, and applications where developed. I am married with two sons. In addition, I am a 2006 recipient of PSTC-Compton fellowship and both NSF-SEAGEP and NSF -IGERT fellowships.
