Martha Silva

After graduating from Macalister College with a B.A. in Psychology and French, Martha has worked in the public health field in projects to promote family planning and healthy sexuality among the youth in Mexico, doing HIV/AIDS education and prevention in Angola, and promoting community health in the highlands of Guatemala. She received an MPH from Tulane University in 2002, and is currently a candidate for a doctoral degree at Tulane. Her doctoral research was conducted in Mexico City, interviewing physicians about their attitudes and willingness to provide legal abortion services to women in the case of a pregnancy caused by rape.
