Research Topic: Forest Plantation Development (Reforestation) and Alternative Livelihood Opportunities for Forest Fringe Communities in Ghana
I am a Ghanaian and work as Assistant Manager/ Social Forester, Collaborative Resource Management Team, Resource Management Support Center for the Ghana Forestry Commission (FC) and, Kumasi- Ghana, 1997 to date. My Educational background include BA (Hons.) Social Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi – Ghana; MA Sustainable International Development, Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, Waltham, MA, USA. My Current education is on MF (Social Forestry option), degree expected in December 2006, School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA. Areas of research interest include participatory forest working plans development; forest fringe communities’ socio-economic issues and development; social conflicts in Forest management; sustainable forestland land use development; and community forest participatory incentives.
