Research Topic: Effects of Folic Acid Supplements and Strengthening Programs on the Reproductive Health of Women of Reproductive Age and the Health of their Infants

Floribeth is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences at the University of Salamanca in Spain. She has finished the first two years. At the same time, she is working on her thesis for a M.S. in Human Nutrition at the University of Costa Rica, School of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine. She is compiling information for the thesis which is entitled “Effects of folic acid supplements and strengthening programs on the reproductive health of women of reproductive age and the health of their infants”. She expects to graduate in January 2006. Prior to her current studies, Floribeth worked at the Ministry of Health for 10 years as director of a health center and as director of a health area, and was part of the Health Commission of the Northern Central Region. She managed different projects with international companies such as Innovamed S.A, Agrolat S.A, Cendifor S.A, and Vaimport S.A.
