Research Topic: Design and Distribution of Information on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in San Cristobal, Mexico

Deborah is an R.N. who completed her degree at the University of Costa Rica. She has been working at Tulane University Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and enjoys anything and everything pertaining to maternal and child health. She is currently finishing an internship in Chiapas, Mexico that has consisted of working to decrease maternal mortality among indigenous populations by education, developing programs not only for indigenous midwives but also assisting in developing a program for professional midwives. She assisted in the management of the birth center Luna Maya while the existing director left the country for 3 months and helped develop monitoring and evaluation techniques for the indigenous midwife program.
