I spent 4 years as an undergraduate at the Agronomy School, University of Antananarivo (Major in Biology and Agronomic Sciences) then I decided to specialize in Natural Resources Management for 2 more years at the Forestry School, University of Antananarivo. My previous works was concentrated in the areas of conservation and development. In fact, I initiated Rural Beekeeping Project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign affaire of Finland. I coordinated the activities of the project, I edited the course pack, and I gave lecture on beekeeping techniques. Then, I was the Assistant Coordinator of Field Research Program of the International NGOs ICTE/Stony Brook (Institute for the conservation of Tropical Environment). I was in charge of conducting a team for a socio-economic survey within 18 villages in the peripheral zone of Ranomafana National Park. As an MESc student at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, my interest is more oriented on Natural science and conservation, and my research topic for the summer is: Natural Regeneration Pattern of the Tropical Rainforest after Anthropogenic Disturbances in Ranomafana National Park, Madagascar. From this research, I would like to know the impact of the extraction of natural resources by the local people into the ecology of the rainforest, specifically into the regeneration pattern of the rainforest.
