Biographical sketch:
Timbila Koama has an MPH in International Health and Development with a concentration on monitoring, evaluation, surveillance, and research. He is also a doctor of medicine, with a degree from the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and has had 12 years of experience in reproductive health and HIV/AIDS program; 7 years in project design, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation, including reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and child survival projects (funded by Plan International, USAID, DFID and JICA).  Koama is skilled in health district management and working in rural area and has experience in collaborating with international institutions and nongovernmental organizations Koama has recently concluded an internship at Family Health International in Washington, DC. There he worked on an analysis of behavior surveillance survey data in Burkina Faso Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Niger. Koama is interested in carrying out research on how to scale up prevention of HIV transmission from mother-to-child in rural settings with full involvement of male and community members. He also interested in the promotion of the female condom at large scale for the sake of women who are the most vulnerable ones to HIV.
