Research interests:
Water resource management practices in the Lake Chad basin in Africa, once the largest lake in Africa now reduced to less than 5% of its surface forty years ago. Specifically, indigenous knowledge and practices for dealing with water in the Yaere floodplain draining into the lake to uncover the nature and causes of conflicts among user groups (farmers, herders and fishers) and the relevance of indigenous knowledge in dealing with conflicts in time of water scarcity; integrative approaches for groups’ access to information on and participation in decision making for water management practices within the plain.
