Department of Wildlife and Animal Resources' Management
Home Country: Uganda

David completed a Bachelors Degree of Veterinary Medicine at Makerere University in 1998. He is pursuing a Masters Degree in Wildlife Health and Animal Resource Management. His current research involves a survey of gastro-intestinal parasite of Blue Monkeys in logged and un-logged compartments of Kibale National Park. The declining population of blue monkeys in Kibale National Park noticed 28years after logging has been associated with disease and parasitic infections aggravated by nutritional stress. A non-invasive study of parasite load and spectrum in their fecal samples will give useful insight into the possible factors affecting the current trend.
