Illona obtained a Bachelor of Science in Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. She is currently the Project Officer of the Ghana Organization of Volunteer Assistance. Illona is fluent in 5 languages and has experience with report writing, needs assessment, monitoring and evaluating projects, proposal writing, organizing workshops, training using Participatory Rural Appraisal (P.R.A.) and Policy Analysis for Participatory Poverty Alleviation (PAPPA) techniques. Her current research interests are in the role of community institutions in the development process in Bamenase, one of the Communities in the Kwaebibirem district of the Eastern Region of Ghana.
