Benjamin studied marine science at the University of Baja California at Ensenada. His interests focus on marine and coastal zone themes. He is currently working towards a master degree in Environmental Management in order to gain integrated knowledge of environmental problems. His goal is to integrate into his research proposal the problem of marine pollution, specifically at the beaches in Playas de Tijuana, and the role the public may play in resolving these problems. This issue includes the analysis about the condition of coastal pollution and the characteristics of social capital in the community studied.
