Innocent Rwego

Innocent was born and educated in Uganda. He obtained a Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Immediately after that he joined the government service as a veterinary extension worker. In August 2001 Innocent was employed by the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary project as a field Veterinarian. This project is sponsored by Morris Animal Foundation and caters to the medical work on the endangered mountain gorilla. The mountain gorillas are highly at risk from anthropozoonotic diseases. Innocent's Masters work will mainly dwell on this issue. He will be trying to determine the prevalence of clinical signs in Mt. Gorillas and also will try to develop a health monitoring form to be used by veterinarians, guides and trackers.
