Denis Twinomugisha

Denis is a student at Makerere Institute of Environment & Natural Resources undertaking a Ph.D. program. He holds a B.Sc (Botany & Zoology) and an M.SC. (vertebrate ecology). Denis is proposing to study bamboo utilization by local people and the golden monkey (Cercopithecus mitis kandti) in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Uganda. He will be focusing on the demand for bamboo by the local people and the role played by the plant in the diet of the monkey (resource competition). The golden monkey an engangered subspecies has potential as a tourist attraction.
